Does the Consciousness Survive Death?

Channeling from Eternal Cosmos

QUESTION: What happens to the consciousness on the death of the human being?

ETERNAL COSMOS: It simply becomes like the clothing you wear. The subconscious retains all of the actions of the personality, the plan, and the pattern. You know that in the Bible it states: “Dust to dust, and ashes to ashes.” No one totally understood that, but that is exactly what happens. If your clothing becomes worn out and full of holes, threadbare, unable to be, shall we say, healed? That garment then is either burned, or is in some way destroyed, into the earth. It becomes something no longer useful.

Your human self is not anymore useful once the action has been completed in that which is transition. The soul leaves, because it is the life. The subconscious moves into the repository to come back again in another human-being, and that which is the teachers and guides and the High Self, wait to receive the next involvement, what is to be the plan, the contract.

The consciousness is only involved, let me say it this way: consciousness, if they are writers, or they have left records, or they have become involved with some kind of beauty of paintings or anything of these kinds, that is how they’re remembered. The human is also remembered by family and friends who recognize the spirit of the human is still involved with the memory, and can become very useful to other humans when its had heightened awareness, or becomes aware that it needs to be involved with helping other humans, which it has not completed but needs to do so. The spirit then is the memory, and it continues, but it does not remain in the body. The body is ashes.

COMMENT: I understand, EC that the body is ashes, but in the writing that these two have recently done, a number of times there’s a statement that the conscious mind has to learn a lesson. I don’t understand what the point would be of the conscious mind learning a lesson, if at death, the conscious mind is also going to disappear.

EC: But the consciousness is only learning a lesson through the subconscious. In other words, like we said, consciousness includes the total action of subconscious and conscious mind, for then the mind becomes simply a memory in the subconscious. Does it not? If you have no body, and you still have a memory of that person, that memory is involved with the subconscious, not the human.

WAYNE GUTHRIE: In other words, it just cuts the collective lesson that’s learned by the consciousness and the subconscious mind and that at transition becomes part of the memory pattern, becomes part of the lessons learned by the basic selves that goes on the plus side in the Akashic Record File, and doesn’t necessitate having to learn that lesson again.

EC: That is extremely difficult for humans to believe, that every action of this lifetime is completely lost. It is not lost. It is left in the subconscious to continue working in the next embodiment, or in the reincarnation.

COMMENT: So it’s kind of like the conscious mind is a bucket holding all of these lessons until the end of life, and that bucket then is dumped into some larger container.

EC: Correct. That’s a very good example.
