Effective Prayer

ETERNAL COSMOS GIVES A DISCOURSE ON “EFFECTIVE PRAYER”

Q: I would like to ask you if you would give us a discourse on effective prayer-the proper way to pray to obtain results.

EC: Within your prayers, which have been placed before you by a Master (the Lord’s Prayer), some of you do not always hear the words spoken. Man speaks with lip service and does not truly speak with the heart at all.

Prayer must be within the sincere desire to place Light, sound and vibration, a mantra, a chant, a word that has great meaning and great vibratory rate to rise up into that which is the Infinite and the Ultimate as a cloud of great and beautiful conception.

Man does not realize how imperative it is that he understand the use, not only of words, but of sound and the breath, and that which is within the musical chanting of words. Even if it is not with music, simply the sound as it expands and moves upward and outward. The action of Light becomes infinitely greater when those who heed it, and hear it, understand what they are saying.

We would say then that those who come forward in this time of your civilization should speak in their own language, even if that is not the way they have learned to say the prayers, for in that which is spoken in a strange language becomes a part of someone else’s and, shall we say this with care, someone else’s vibratory rate, not their own. So if you say a word in a foreign language, or a language that is not of your own vibratory rate, you have already lost the full power of what it represents within your own ability to express.

Man has not truly understood this, that within every language there are certain phrases, certain quotations, certain expressions which can not be found in any other words or translations. And therefore, if you were to speak from ancient scrolls in Hebrew, or Sanskrit, or any of the languages of the ancients, it would have little or no meaning to you, as this has been done in the ancient languages of other churches.

Latin, therefore, simply becomes a sound. It has nothing left in it except the sound when it is raised into the highest elements of expression, and sound is not sufficient. Man must understand what he is doing, speaking, and hearing, or he cannot in any way express correctly.

At this point, this is part of a strange and unusual deviation, which in the ancient days became a mistranslation of words from the ancient scrolls placed into the mouths of those who, speaking them, may have said a single word incorrectly and changed the entire meaning so that it became negative instead of positive.

But we say to you, that you may in some way, in using several languages, remember that it must always be placed into your own, and that in saying it you must make sure that each word is well rounded, filled with Light, filled with thought, and filled with your true expression of the Heart. It then has good expression, good value, for words placed into man’s voice become the words of God as He hears them, as He knows they belong to him.

Prayer becomes the greatest form of change, of useful change, upon any Planet. It becomes part of that which takes man out of himself, seeking to assist others as well as himself. It becomes the Infinite voice that reaches through all of the vibratory rates, levels of consciousness, the planes of existence in a “cloud of Light.” And as expressed over and onto each of the Planets, the Angelic Beings, it becomes useful to those who bathe in it, who wrap themselves in its beauty and its Light and become uplifted, floating upon it, raising themselves and evolving within this beauty that has been placed about them.

Prayer then becomes the vast expression of man in one expressive way in that he himself seeks his own Infinite, his God, his salvation, his Messiah, his Savior, whatever you wish to call it, and only he himself, as he raises his voice and speaks thus personally and in groups within the voice that becomes the voice of the Universe.

Prayer has no comparison! It has nothing within it that can be compared to any other form of useful and infinite expression. We say you must pray to change your world, not only the world about you, but your own world, your own Earth, that which you reside on can be changed by prayer. And as you send it up and out all those within Spirit, within the voids, within oblivion, within limbo, those who are hopeless and can find no place to rest will also find a place upon your “cloud of prayer” to place themselves into betterment.

You have no idea of what “one single prayer” can manifest as it raises, spread out and become part of the Universal Consciousness!
